Guided visit

     The guided visit is composed of three parts: the underground tour, the visit to the mineral museum and the visit to the  mineralogical museum.

The underground tour

With a mining guide, visitors go underground through the galleries to visit authentic pit workings. The tour traces mining techniques and conditions through time and provides an exciting learning experience with audio-visual displays.

The mineral museum

It exhibits items related to mining and to the daily life of the miners in Valmalenco;

The Mineralogical Museum

Among the valleys in the Alps,  Valmalenco is maybe the richest in minerals and those who have familiarity with mineralogy books know that Valmalenco is often mentioned with other places in the world. A successful geological position enabled us to have such a variety of crystals in a few kmq. In Valmalenco there are more than 260 sorts of minerals, among which artinite and brugnatellite were found here for the first time. Ten minerals, when they were discovered in Valmalenco, were totally unknown in Italy and Europe; moreover there are crystallizations so important for their dimensions,  morphology and optical characteristics that can be considered the best all over the world. That’s the case of  demantoid, which can’t be easily found and which is today emblem of Lanzada.
